THE STORY BEHIND INDEMNIS
in·dem·nis | noun from Latin: indemnitas, indemi(s), meaning
uninjured; suffering no damage or loss; suffering no loss of wealth or property
Indemnis was built for drone operators by drone operators who found that existing parachute systems did not work reliably. We were tired of damaging and losing expensive equipment, so we decided to change that. The name Indemnis, Latin for “without hurt, harm or damage,” stands as a reminder of the company’s protective promise and mission.
What began as a drawing on a napkin, quickly turned into reassembly of a cut up air mattress and our first prototype. Since then, we’ve worked to bridge the gap between concept and reality, the word impossible does not exist in our vocabulary. We are privileged to have pulled together some of the brightest minds and out of the box thinkers and we humble ourselves daily with the speed at which we make advancements.
Taking testing out of the lab, and into the field – Our team has spent thousands of hours designing, testing, and extensively studying the real-world failure dynamics of aviation that are unique to multi-rotor UAV flight. We have created a new standard in the industry. Our materials technology and advanced fall detection software, partnered with our patented deployment system has enabled the Nexus to become the solution that is unmatched in the market today.
We know that flight conditions are never the same and drones are unpredictable when failure happens. Your system should not be limited. The Nexus by Indemnis is the only proven fail-safe recovery system that can perform without limitation. It is an enterprise risk mitigation tool that is designed to enable flight over people and allows businesses to expand their current operations.
To our family and friends who have supported us throughout our journey and to our forward-thinking investors who have made this all possible, we owe a huge thank you! Indemnis is not just a company but a part of who we have become.
Based in Alaska, home to one of the FAA’s first UAS test sites, our team exemplifies the pioneering, high-adventure spirit of the “Last Frontier.” For those who are just getting acquainted with the idea of mechanical machines buzzing above your head on a daily occurrence, we are excited to share our vision with you.
"There wasn't anything on the market that was proven to
work EVERY time, so we created it."
