THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE MAGIC
We'd say we are lucky to have the team we do, but luck doesn't really accurately describe it. You see, from day one we were strategic in acquiring and advancing the most talented engineers, craftsmen, and professionals in their fields. We were born from the UAV film industry but it took forming an unbeatable crew of specialists to make the leaps in innovation Indemnis has reached. Thousands of hours of research and development have been led by experienced business owners and paired with accomplished technicians, engineers, artists, and consultants to become the world's leader in the future of UAV safety.
AMBER MCDONALD | CEO / CO-FOUNDER
Amber is a serial entrepreneur, starting and growing many businesses over the years. She has guided numerous teams to success since she was a little girl. When the neighborhood kids were playing outside and having fun, Amber was knocking on doors to see who needed their lawn mowed. By age 12, she was supervising 5-10 member janitorial crews for a large family business.
At 19, Amber started as an intern for First Alaskans Institute and was running the program 6 months later. She was the youngest woman and one of the youngest individuals to ever be elected to an Alaska Native Regional Corporation Board of Directors. Amber’s work ethic, drive, and dedication are unsurmountable. Not only does she walk into a board room and close contracts with tact, she can join the guys on the engineering floor and contribute to the development of new technology.

Amber is a founding member of Indemnis and has led business operations since the company’s formation. She is the shop mom and takes care of the Indemnis family. Amber complements Alan and oversees the business operations, sales, marketing, finance division, business development and strategic partnerships, and federal contracting as well as FAA compliance areas.
ALAN ERICKSON | CTO / FOUNDER
Alan Erickson had 15 years of business success in technology and sales, as well being a drone video pioneer prior to entering the UAV safety world. Through his first video venture, White Boxx Studios, he helped create the well-received Store Outside Your Door project with the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. He also secured national contracts with clients such as Harley Davidson, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet—where he gained his first three years of experience with UAVs.
Alan’s passion for business, world commerce and sales has been life-long. At an age when his peers were most likely setting up lemonade stands, he was following the stock market and attending venture capitalism workshops. Other early interests included technology and materials science. By 17, he was named among the top four salespeople at CompUSA, a chain with nearly 800 stores nationwide. It was there he developed his simple but effective sales philosophy: “If you have a good product, it sells itself.”
Since founding Indemnis in 2015, Alan has shifted his focus full-time to UAV’s and bringing UAV recovery systems to market. He heads up the technical R&D team that includes expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering, fabrication, textile welding, and embedded systems coding. Alan also has experience with piloting UAVs and TV/Film production. Alan’s greatest strength is to continuously push the innovation to be lighter, stronger, and more effective.
